The Pink Full Moon In Libra
Astrology by Lisa Stardust
Once a month, the Earth's orbit is exactly between the Sun and the Moon. This is known as a Full Moon, which makes the celestial energy extreme. This is a time when we can restore our energy and see matters. The zodiac sign of this monthly occurrence is directly opposite where the Sun is located during the particular cycle. This month, the Sun in Aries juxtaposes the Moon in Libra on April 12 at 5:22 PM PT and 8:22 PM ET.
This particular Full Moon is known as the “Pink Moon” due to the bloom of the phlox wildflowers across North America. The Pink Full Moon is also a micro moon, meaning its small appearance is due to the Moon's far proximity to Earth. Even though it's at its apogee, the effects on our emotions will still be immense.
This lunation squares the action planet Mars, which is in Cancer. We’ll be more apt to take on matters of importance and make an effort to work on how we can transform partnerships. This is when we can fulfill our greatest expectations and set ourselves up for success. Think of the desires of what you want to add to your life. Then, ask the universe for it. We’ll be easily granted these gifts if we can augment our relationships and allow them to transcend with time. The Moon links up with the fixed star Spica, offering good fortune and abundance. Being that Spica is one of the luckiest stars in the sky,
The same day, Venus turns direct in Pisces, ending the retrograde journey that began on March 1. This planetary shift will be felt strongly because the Full Moon is in Libra, a sign ruled by Venus. Our problems from the planetary rewind may not be completely resolved, but we’ll begin to realize what we need to evolve and change regarding matters of the heart and finances.
The healing centaur Chiron forms a connection to the Sun in Aries on the day of the Full Moon, helping us mend the emotional upsets from the last month. This is the first step we’ll be taking towards mending our emotions. If someone calls upon us for a shoulder to cry on, it’s essential to be there as a form of support. Our words and messages of inspiration will motivate them to grow. The caveat is that it creates an opposition to the Moon in Libra, which manifests emotional issues. It’ll take us time to understand the depths of past hurts, but we’re on our way to making progress.
Since we are focusing on mending and maintaining relationships, it’s vital to focus on how we can heal them. Light a pink candle (the color of Venus), then place it in a bowl with water and rose petals on your altar. Before lighting the candle, give Venus a gift for an offering — candy or a small glass of champagne will suffice. When lighting the candle, meditate on what you wish to augment and heal in relationships. Take a breath, call upon Venus, and ignite the flame.
