THE HOODWITCH: WEEKLY HOROSCOPES 3/1- 3/7~2017
Witch Tips
Taking care of your emo, mental, and spiritual wellness is key because anxiety is hella up this week. Explosive Uranus and impulsive Jupiter are opposite each other, and it’s making everyone nervous. These two planets govern the desire to be autonomous and free, but neither of them are known for self-control or their ability to pace themselves. If you’re extra nervous, blame it on these guys, and use stones and herbs that help calm the nervous system (Amethyst and Lavender are a good pair).
Things kick off on the 1st with the Sun sitting on top of dreamy, easily confused Neptune, and it’s gonna feel weird. The vibe is super emo; it’s likely to feel differently for everyone, and that’s exactly the problem. You may feel like you’re sharing the same experience with someone when they’re on a totally different page from you. Neptune is magical, which is awesome, but it can also make you feel paranoid and anxious, which bites. Make the most of it by allowing yourself to be introspective, and draw your conclusions later. Neptune will bleed into all that you do this week, so take things easy as much as possible. Mercury will join Neptune on the 4th, making it a great time for writing poetry and channeling divinity but a bad time for managing time and the mundane needs of the material world. Miscommunications are likely during these days, but try to give others the benefit of the doubt and remember: ice is for cool beverages, not for friends! Don’t ice your friends if they disappoint you – warmth and openness will take you where you wanna be.
The big news this week is that Venus starts it’s moonwalk through the sky on the 4th, and it’ll continue it’s retrograde motion until April 15th. This means that what you care deeply about is up for reevaluation. Venus is the planet of sensual love; it governs beauty, art, diplomacy and closeness, but above all else, it’s the planet of values. During this retrograde, it’s wise to appraise the authenticity and worth of the people and the things in your life. If they don’t reflect what you truly value, it’s time to make some meaningful changes. The most important love relationship that you have in your life should be the one you have with yourself. Create a vibrant life that reflects what you care most deeply about, and watch the good stuff fall in line.
ARIES
March 21-April 19
If your mind isn’t clear, it’ll be really hard to tell your wisdom from your mind chatter, Aries. There’s a bunch of restless and exciting energy at play this week. The risk is that it could make everything shiny seem like gold, but it isn’t, dear one. Your intuition is a tool that needs consistent sharpening so that it can function well. Slow down and tune in, especially when you’re feeling impatient with your process. It’s OK if your freedom is gained via intentional compromise, lover.
TAURUS
April 20-May 20
Your ruling planet goes Retrograde on the 4th, and it’s putting you on call to realign with your ethics. There’s anxious energy in the air, and if you’re not careful, it’ll be catching. This week, you need to spend enough time alone to be able to distinguish what’s yours versus what belongs to the people that you’re close to. In order to pull this off, you need to believe that you have a right to be OK when others aren’t and that you deserve to take the break you so deeply need.
.
GEMINI
May 21-June 21
You’re likely to be feeling easily overwhelmed this week, and that can make you look for the easy way out. There’s no escaping yourself, no matter how good you are at pulling the old Twin Star Jekyll and Hyde routine. Make sure to dot your i’s and cross your t’s, Gemini. You alone are in charge of where you take your life. Follow through on opportunities that excite you, honor your commitments, and deal with the scary bits head-on.
CANCER
June 22-July 22
When you’re not right with yourself, everything you do feels off. Take strides to better understand what your fears are trying to tell you before you go trying to fix anyone else, Moonchild. Listen to your inner voice so that if you’re off track, you don’t go too far in the wrong direction, and if you’re doing alright, you can change your attitude. Find your center of gravity, and seek to act from a self-loving place. You can totally handle any changes you need to make; pace yourself this week.
LEO
July 23-Aug. 22
Letting go of the past is no simple task. You can’t reason with yourself and whisk it away or sweep it under the rug; letting go is an emotional process, and that means it takes time, Leo. This week, you’re likely to get insights into a long-developing emotional situation. Don’t jump on them or make any wild proclamations! Sit with your feelings, and see what they reflect about you – not anyone else. Healing happens when you stop trying to force a fix.
VIRGO
Aug. 23-Sept. 22
You’re relationships are likely to be rocky this week, so pace yourself. If you’re feeling gripped by anxieties that won’t let you go, the worst thing you could do is substantiate them with a story. Don’t weave narratives to match your feelings, Virgo. Feeling scared doesn’t mean that you’re in jeopardy, and it’s unwise to try and prove to yourself that it does. Let your feels gestate before you jump to conclusions or convince yourself of a drama that just isn’t there.
LIBRA
Sept. 23-Oct. 22
You want to be free and you deserve it, but free of what? And at what cost? This week you’re not going to get answers from anyone other than your own sweet self, and that’s scary. Your tendency is to run ideas past other people, but this is the time for you to sit with your ideas and not let others’ opinions be your deciding factor. Taking full responsibility means that if something goes wrong, you have to shoulder the consequences, but it’s totally worth it, my love.
SCORPIO
Oct. 23-Nov. 21
Art and creativity can have a profoundly healing effect on your life, Scorpio. If you’ve been feeling down or stuck, this is the time to get back to the studio and make some art, find new music to fall in love with, or watch an inspiring movie. Let fiction and fantasy inspire and refresh you, giving you a much needed break from the hardships you’re dealing with. Let yourself be transformed by beauty wherever you can get it this week.
SAGITTARIUS
Nov. 22-Dec. 21
When your roots feel loose, everything suffers. This week you’re on call to have healthy boundaries, ‘Tarius, especially when you’d rather collapse into your habits. Compromise is healthy, but not when it compromises you; doing your own thing is healthy, but not when you trample on the needs of others to do it. That sucks. Whatever you do, it’s important that you own it, my love. Make choices that you can stand by, no matter who knows what you’re doing.
CAPRICORN
Dec. 22-Jan. 19
This week you’re likely to be wrestling with some deep stuff, so here’s a pro tip to help you out: there are no shoulds. Live in accordance with what’s right for you – not what’s “right”. You can’t do everything all at once, and you can’t be perfect. If you don’t think you have the right to do what you need to do, you’ll fester with resentments and get nothing done at all. Now that that’s cleared up, honor your need for change, and get out of your own way.
AQUARIUS
Jan. 20-Feb. 18
If you survived last week’s eclipse without shaking things up, you may be feeling really anxious about now. There are so many paths that you can take, but they’re not all equal. it’s time to honor your needs in the here and now, regardless of whether or not it feels easy to make changes. You deserve happiness, Aquarius. Honor the needs of your heart over the needs of your ego, even if it requires radical changes to your plans.
PISCES
Feb. 19-March 20
There’s a lot of action in your sign again this week, and it’s gonna feel intense for you. Don’t seek perfection, Pisces; seek progress. Don’t look for external evidence that you’re doing it right; trust in your own perceptions and honor them. Confronting the world and all of it’s challenges takes courage, and if you stop looking for validation from others, you’ll find that you’re fully equipped to give it to yourself. There’s a bigger picture at play. Take heart and have faith in it.
