Manifesting with the Leo New Moon
Astrology by Lisa Stardust
The Leo New Moon on August 18th aligns with Mercury, Mars, and the Nodes of Destiny — will give us a chance to let go of the past and move towards our truest selves. As the Sun and the Moon link up close to Earth, we are given the rare opportunity to revise our life, for the better.
This luminary will have us shattering outdated ways of relating to the world around us; transmuting lower energies that led us to devalue ourselves into higher vibrations to help us move forward to more positive places in life. It’s time, under this emotional luminary, to clear out debris, dissolve the fears and blockages within us, and connect to our core truth. We will need to focus on what we love about ourselves, to begin a new relationship with the self, the ego, and our identity.
During the Leo New Moon, we must honor the relationship we have with ourselves, which is the most important relationship of all. The following exercise calls for us to create two lists of characteristics: those we like about ourselves, which will promote warmth in our heart center, and those we don’t like, which will help us reflect on what we must commit to working on or learn to love. With positive recognition of our best attributes and honesty about our insecurities, we can set the past free and truly meet our potential.
The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon is “The Luminescence Of Dawn In The Eastern Sky.” If we are so bold as to leave the past behind and let go of doubt, we can embrace a new beginning. A new dawn will be begin if we let go and move towards our destiny.
Using the essences of Leo: sunflowers, ginger, and grapefruit— and the spirit of the fiery passionate Sun (Leo’s planetary ruler), let love of the Self fill your heart chakra, steering you towards your best and happiest life.
Ingredients:
-Twine or Rope
-4 Sunflowers
-1 Grapefruit
-1 Ginger Root
-Glass of Water
-Pen and 2 Pieces of Paper
-Cauldron or Metal Pot
How to Make Sun Water:
-Similar to Moon Water, you make Sun Water by putting a cup of water directly in the Sun, or by a window, letting it charge for a few hours before or after the ritual. Ideally, the water should charge for 24 hours before or after solar eclipse.
Directions:
-Set the atmosphere. It’s best to do this ritual outside under the sun. However, if you need to do it inside, you can create the mood by opening windows to let the sun’s light inside.
-Calm yourself with 4 deep breaths. 4 is the numerological number associated with Leo’s planetary ruler, the Sun. Breathe and feel the Sun’s warmth upon you.
-Write two lists. One list of your insecurities, fears, and things you do not like about yourself. The other list is composed of things you are proud of and love about yourself.
-Take the list of things you wish to change (your insecurities) and fold 4 times, as 4 is the numerological sign of Leo.
-Peel the grapefruit, keeping only the skin of the fruit.
-Take ginger root and slice it thinly.
-Take 2 sunflowers, along with the grapefruit and ginger, wrap them around the list with rope, binding with twine or rope. You can also bind the list and fruit with the stems of the flower, if you choose not to use twine or rope.
-Take the list and bind together with all these materials
-Place in a cauldron or pot.
-Carefully light the paper on fire in the cauldron
-Throw Sun Water over the flame to burn out the fire when the paper turns to ashes
-Dispose of the ashes
-Take the list of things you adore about yourself, fold 4 times, using the 2 extra sunflowers, leftover grapefruit skin, and ginger root, bind all these together and set on your altar or by a mirror, letting the flowers wilt and the fruit dry, creating a day to day reminder of the amazing gifts you have within.
-On the 4th day, reflect on how far you have come within the relationship you have with yourself by reflecting on these gifts.
-Hold close to your heart chakra (the chakra ruled by Leo), under the Sun, and let the warmth of your fabulousness fill your heart with warmth.
