The Great Conjunction 2020
December 21st is a momentous day in 2020. The Sun moves into Capricorn, the First Quarter Moon occurs in Aries (which ends eclipse season), the Great Conjunction occurs, and the Winter Solstice shifts seasons. Change is in the air now. The question is, “Are we ready?”
The seasonal shift occurs when the Sun enters Capricorn. This means that we’ll be pushed to be more reflective during the Yuletide. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, which means that the veil between the physical and spiritual world is thin. Anxieties and emotions will be high, if the energy surrounding us is not protected. The flip side is that we can receive psychic downloads from the universe and gain clarity on matters that have been confusing.
The Great Conjunctin occurs every 20 years. The previous alignment was in Taurus in 2000. The last time the Great Conjunction occurred in Aquarius was on January 7th, 1405. This astrological transit occurs when Jupiter and Saturn connect in the cosmos. Not only will they be aspecting each other, but they will be the closest they’ve been in hundreds of years.
Most of the time when Jupiter and Saturn connect, their energies cancel each other out. Think of this as a positive energy (Jupiter) and a negative energy (Saturn) coming together. What happens here is that they cancel each other out. But, just because their energies won’t perform to their potency, doesn’t mean that this won’t be an intense cosmic connection.
The one thing to consider is that Saturn is the stronger planet of the two in this conjunction. Because Saturn is in its dignity, Aquarius, the energy may be more inclined towards the realignment of the old ways of thinking. It’s a changing of the guards. Out with the old, in with the new. Progress is here. Humanitarianism will now bring the world together. Technology will help us prevail in the next 20 years. We can and will overcome any obstacle that stands in our way if we fight the patriarchy and societal constraints together. We can implement transformation if we tear the walls down and build better ones in its place.
Think of all these transits occurring on December 21st as a shedding of the past, so to speak. We are moving into the next phase of our lives and letting go of outdated views. Move towards newness. Refresh. Restart. Begin again. Onwards and forwards...
