WITCHTIPS & HOROSCOPES ~6-20-26/2018

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: there is no separation between the political and the spiritual. None. What you do unto others, the injustices you’re able to justify, and the tragedies you’re comfortable regarding as “other people’s problems” are all true reflections of your Soul – the one and only thing that get to take with you when you leave this life. Don’t allow apathy or overwhelm to stop you from caring about others. You have a voice, and no matter how tiny it is, if you use it to resist hatred and oppression, you will be joining a chorus of others. Together we can direct the course of history and avoid making the grotesque mistakes we made the last time that Uranus was in Taurus (1934-1942).

Children are being ripped from their parents and guardians; parents are not being told where their children are. These children are being incarcerated in tent cities, buildings with no windows, and in metal cages. If you don’t know what concentration camps are, now’s the time to do a simple Internet search, because these camps are terrifyingly similar. It’s time to educate yourself and to do something. History can (and often does) repeat itself, but it doesn’t have to. If you think that all of this is separate from astrology, I assure you that it’s not. We have some dangerous transits reiterating now that we also saw during WW2, so let’s not make the same mistakes. I promise that your horoscope is below, but know this: you, your liberty, and your wellness do not exist in a vacuum. Your liberty is interwoven with that of others. When your money, good mood, safety, etc is won at someone else’s expense, your good fortune is simply not in alignment with your Soul – regardless of your Sun sign or this week’s horoscope.

Let me share with you this poem by Pastor Niemöller, written after World War 2*, that truly says it all.

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

The demographics may be different, but the meaning is clear. As a family of humans, we must protect each other from powers that seek to do us harm. There are no more excuses; the time is now to make your voice heard.

Things are moving fast, and this week the astrology comes at us quick. This week starts off with a lovely Mercury trine to mystic Neptune on the 20th. This transit will bring with it a spike in empathy, and it’s exactly what you need if you’ve got conflicts to reconcile or have been creatively stuck. Expect your ideas to flow, even though this won’t give you any motivation to get things done. If you try you can make inspired headway.

This energy follows us into day one of Cancer Season, which starts on the 21st, with a dynamic Venus opposition to Mars. This shift brings us to a greater concern for family and a time for tending house. Look to your foundational relationships and the people you call home; these transits give you the energy you need to tend to who and what you care about. This week is a big emo shift, so if you find yourself irritable, don’t freak out! Your best bet is to strive to understand the source of your upset so that you can nurture yourself effectively.

Luckily, on the 22nd we have a Sun sextile to Saturn that will help you do just that. This transit is excellent for getting to work. If you need to practically understand something, make a plan, or even just get to the gym, this shift will help you achieve it. Saturn can help you reach some much needed perspective in order to make wise choices. It can also help you to generally follow through with your plans and commitments, so do try to make use of this energy.

Finally we have the belly-puncher of the week; on the 23rd Mercury in Cancer forms a contentious opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. This combination is likely to intensify your thinking and can lead you down some thorny pathways if you’re not careful. Pluto governs paranoia and obsessions, and its energies can be quite vengeful. Pick your battles wisely as you may need to stand up or sit TF down this week. When you catch yourself running over the same self-defenses in your mind, it’s a sign that you don’t totally believe what you’re saying. Pluto can also signify a time of breakthroughs, healing, and resolution. If it can’t be chill, just make sure that it’s healing, my loves.

PS: On the 26th Mars goes Retrograde for the first time since 2016, and it will stay that way until August 27th. This is a really big deal, and I’ll tell you all about it in next week’s forecast, I promise. xo

* To clarify: human rights atrocities are not in any way isolated to the internment or concentration camps of WW2, or the oppression that thrived in that period. Some major astrology of that period is reoccurring currently, and this is specifically why I am referring to that period.

ARIES

March 21-April 19

If you allow your anxieties or feelings of overwhelm to direct your actions, you’ll only succeed in generating more things to be upset by. Take a step back so that you can assess what needs attention versus what needs soothing, Aries. What you don’t know could end up becoming a liability or a wonderful surprise; the point is that you don’t yet know, so why assume the worst? Find ways of seeking the best in situations that trigger you this week.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20

In order to have something you really want, you may have to give up something you cherish. The most important thing you can do this week is make sure that you’re making choices from a place of self-knowledge. Don’t make your moves with the motive of keeping up with the Jones’s or pleasing others. Nothing is totally free – including freedom. Make compromises, but only bend on things that won’t make you break. Don’t compromise what you believe in, Taurus.

GEMINI

May 21-June 21

Uncertainty is part of life. The important thing is that you resist the temptation to fill in the blanks with stories just because you’re uncomfortable not knowing what’s up. This week may involve some waiting or feeling stymied. Instead of fighting it, try taking this as an opportunity to be interested in your own responses. How you feel in reaction to the people and things around you says just as much about you as it does them. Take the time to listen, Twin Star.

CANCER

June 22-July 22

This is the start of Cancer Season – it’s your time, Moonchild! Too much of a good thing is still too much. Support your emotions solidly and in ways that don’t demand you leave the house or spend a bunch of money. Eat conscientiously, drink lots of water, practice breathing through upsets, and try to get enough sleep this week. How you treat your body will set the stage for your ability to pair intention with your responses during this very emo week.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22

Things may not be as you wish they were, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck. You have options, and if you’re willing to look creatively at them, you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find is possible. Leverage the resources you already have at your disposal to help you without taking on any new debts this week. If you can work with what you have, you’ll find that you generate abundance in your life and in the lives of others, Leo.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Letting go is hard and scary and painful, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. This week will confront you with the need for change. You can convince yourself that everyone around you needs to change, but it’s not true. Either you need to shift something within you or it’s time to change your actions. If something isn’t working for you, it’s your job to advocate for your needs. If what you’re doing isn’t working, try something new, sweet one.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Use what isn’t working as motivation, Libra. You’re so capable and full of love to share, but certain things are weighing you down. If you try to evade them, you’ll end up feeling off-kilter and then eventually confused. Instead, try to acknowledge whatever is stuck or broken, and strive to make it right

again. You have what you need, but there is no perfect moment. Now is as good a time as any to take care of business.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Something’s going on within you, and it’s confusing. It’s like you know yourself better than ever before, and at the same time, you’re totally uncertain. Regardless of your age, you’re growing up. This week is a good one to spend some time catching up with all the changes – the setbacks, the advantages, and all that’s yet TBD. As you plot your next moves, remember that things are not always as they at first appear to be, Scorpio.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

Follow through, Sagittarius. It’s time to transform your ideas into actions and to streamline your actions into something you can sustain. You have a special gift that the world needs. You’re ready to confront your own limitations, even if it kicks up a case of the sads. Embrace both the light and the shadow that it casts. Stop wasting your time wishing you were somewhere else. Accept where you’re starting from, pick yourself up, and get to work, my love.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

You don’t have to take on other people’s BS. You don’t have to fight, and you don’t need to stick around if you feel that someone is trying to pick one. How you respond to other people is likely to be a bit tricky this week as tensions flare. Take stock of what you’re willing to participate in and how because that stuff is all you, Cappy. When in doubt, consider more viewpoints than your own, and take the most compassionate approach available to you.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 18

Your sign is excellent at figuring out creative solutions to big problems. What you’re not as naturally great at is tolerating the feels that come up while you’re unpacking those problems though. Strive to hit a sweet spot between repressing your feels and drowning in them, Aquarius. This isn’t the right time to add a great deal more to your plate or to take anything new on. For best results, deal directly with the things that are bothering you this week.

PISCES

Feb. 19-March 20

You can’t stop the world from turning, and you can’t make totally safe choices that are free from consequence. Your ‘what ifs’ may be getting the better of you this week, but there’s an opportunity in that mess. When you catch yourself spinning into chaotic ideas, it means you’ve lost track of your breath. Prioritize getting grounded in your body – even if it’s uncomfortable to do – before you chase your anxious thoughts down any rabbit holes, Pisces.
